Kohima shooting: Watsu appeals to Naga public

Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): Frustrated at justice eluding retired government officer M Imtila Jamir who was shot by two cadres of the NSCN/GPRN on May 27 in Kohima, the apex organization of the Ao Naga women community today appealed to all Naga citizens to ‘break the bondage of fear’ and claim justice.
The Watsu Mungdang issued a message today, wondering why nothing has been done or any arrest made when the perpetrators of the crime and the organization they belong to have been established already.
“Dear Naga brothers and sisters, truth is the foundation of every strong nation and truth will set us free. It is our appeal to every right thinking Nagas to come out from the bondage of fear and uphold truth as the highest virtue in faith, works and words,” the Watsu Mungdang stated in its appeal to the Naga people.
The Watsü Mungdang lauded the efforts of the Ao Senden and the action committee in seeking justice for the attempt on the life of M Imtila Jamir on May 27, 2011 by the underground cadres.
The organization stated – “However, till date nothing has been done nor any arrest has been made in this regard and for this the Watsü Mungdang is wondered as the perpetrators of the crime has been established and the group to which they belong is known, then Watsü Mungdang questions the illusiveness of law to punish such perpetrators and questions the lawmakers on whether there is no such law to book the culprit?” The message was appended by the Watsu Mungdang’s president Dr. Imlirenla Walling and general secretary Moala Imsong.
“Therefore, the Watsü Mungdang demands that the resolution made during the Kohima Protest rally by Ao Senden on 1st June, 2011 should be implemented with immediate effect,” the organization demanded.
