Kohima teachers empowered with latest teaching methodologies and tools

Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): Kaziranga University of Jorhat, Assam conducted a half day faculty development programme (FDP) for the academicians from reputed schools and colleges of Kohima.

According to a press release on Friday, the programme deliberated mainly on the use of technology and futuristic tools for imparting quality holistic education. The need for multi disciplinary and skill based education were explained by Dr PG Ramesh, Dean of Engineering and Dr Sajal Saha, Dean of Computing Science. Dr Bobby Roy, Dean of Admissions expressed the need of effective tools and technologies towards an efficient teaching learning pedagogy, it stated.

Roy also apprised the gathering on the history of Kaziranga University which was founded in 2012 with a vision to provide quality career oriented higher education to the people of northeast.  Over the years it has blossomed into one of the top private universities of the region with several thousand students who have completed their education and are placed in various top organizations in India and abroad, he said.

In line with same vision, Kaziranga University has initiated and come forward to share its competencies and resources with the teaching fraternity of the northeast and equip them with the latest teaching methodologies and innovative tools empowering the teachers towards an effective and efficient teaching learning pedagogy, Roy added.

The FDP was conducted amongst 26 eminent teachers of Kohima who reaped rich benefits. They expressed that this sort of enriching programmes would help the teaching fraternity to generate higher productivity, the release stated.

Roy meanwhile assured that Kaziranga University will conduct many such programmes and workshops to enrich and empower the academicians as well as the students of Nagaland as it is being also done other north eastern states, the release stated.
