‘Language Our Identity,' stresses TKK seminar

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): The Tenyidie Kephrünuoko Krotho (TKK) held a one-day seminar under the theme ‘Die U kelhoubo-u’ (Language Our Identity) on September 25 at AMK Building, Kohima.

Dwelling on the topic, Vilhoukhoü Solo of Ura Academy, sharing from her experiences of travelling around the world, said that speaking in one’s own Mother Tongue in a foreign land is the most blissful thing and one must be proud of own language. 

 Other speakers of the seminar included Vipralhou Kesiezie (National Education Policy 2020 Basing on Mother tongue); Thinuokhrieü Tseikha (Our Ethical Culture); Metuo Liezietsu (The Role of Public in Enriching yhe Language); Vizonyü Liezietsu (Tenyidie Usage).  

In the concluding session, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President Ura Academy and TKK Advisor stated that there are more than 7000 languages that are being spoken but many are near extinction or endangered. 

He highlighted some initiatives of the Ura Academy in Tenyidie promotion and challenges the young generation to take up the same, a press release from the TKK informed.
