
Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): The Dimapur unit of the Life Consumer Society (LCS) & RTI has urged and notified the business communities and service providers to abstain from indulging with business illegal malpractices as well as provide quality services
The malpractices as per the LCS & RTI include selling of expiry goods and adulterated fuels; price tampering; unhygienic condition of hotels, bakery and restaurants; poor hygienic and improper maintenance of the butchers alongside the highways and streets as well as illegal weight and measures; selling of goods and commodities above the prescribed rate of the municipal council or district rate controlling agency.
It further appealed service providers such as telecom and mobile operators, domestic and commercial gas agencies etc to give quality services to its consumer.
A press release from the LCS & RTI President, Khevito Assumi and General Secretary, Manaho Katty informed that several complaints and grievances regarding the issues have been received from general public in its office.
Accordingly, during its 2nd Executive meeting on March 25, the office has anonymously resolved to issue this notification cum-appeal to the business communities and service providers to refrain from illegal malpractices and provide quality services, it added.
The LCS & RTI Dimapur has further appeals the citizens and consumers to remain vigilant and to report any of their grievances or complaints in regards with the aforesaid issues to its consumer grievances cell number @ 9612888858, 7005573406 and 8794363899.
It further cautioned that LCS & RTI would initiate legal course of action upon the defaulters as per the relevant sections of law.
