Legislators incharge of Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 led by Minister Tongpang Ozukum during their visit to Tseminyu sub division Task Force on May 13.
Kohima, May 14 (MExN): Legislators incharge of Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 led by Minister Tongpang Ozukum, Minister In Charge, Kohima district visited Tseminyu sub division Task Force and held a joint meeting with all the civil society organizations on the preparation on COVID-19 on May 13.
A press release issued by the office of the Minister In Charge, Kohima district stated that during the meeting, ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi highlighted the financial problem faced by the Task Force, particularly to set up quarantine facilities in the sub division Hq and requested the concerned authority to look into the matter. He also requested for security personnel to man the quarantine facilities.
The civil society organizations led by Rengma Hoho expressed their concern on the preparedness of the state government in bringing back the Nagas from outside who wants to return home. They urged the state government to meticulously plan and make preparations so that the returnees do not face any inconveniences and difficulties.
Senior Medical Officer, CHC Tseminyu also briefed the visiting team on the preparedness on covid-19 and also shared certain grievances faced by in the CHC.
Minister incharge for Kohima district, Tongpang Ozukum assured to intervene in addressing the problems faced by Tseminyu Task Force. He also briefed the gathering that the government of Nagaland is giving its best effort in preparation on the COVID-19 pandemic with the limited resources and man power at their disposal.
The minister while briefly highlighting the pathetic financial situation and condition of the state, he further sought out their co-operation and continued support since the fight against this disease should be a collective one with shared responsibility amongst every shareholders.
Advisor in charge for Kohima district, Dr Nicky Kire and Advisor R Khing who were also present in the meeting thanked the apex organizations for their positive contributions and cooperation. Both the advisors further urged them to extend their support to the Task Force.
SP Kohima Kevithuto who was also present at the meeting assured to look into matter raised by ADC and others for sending more police personnel. Dr Asunu Thong, District TB Programme Officer who also accompanied the legislators spoke on the importance of using face mask, hand washing and setting up quarantine facilities.
After the meeting, the visiting team visited a quarantine facility at and also inspected CHC Tseminyu.
