LMFN Youth conclave to spotlight inclusion, minority rights in Nagaland

Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland (LMFN) will organise its 2nd Youth Conclave-cum-Cultural Fest 2026 on July 12 at the Town Hall, Dimapur, beginning at 10:00 am.

According to a press release issued by the Forum, the event aims to promote youth leadership, communal harmony, national integration, social inclusion, and the preservation of the cultural heritage of linguistic minority communities living in Nagaland.

The programme is expected to bring together youth, students, community leaders, cultural groups, social organisations, and other participants from across the State.

The inaugural session at 11:00 am will be attended by Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav as the chief guest. The second session, scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm, will have Moatoshi Longkumer as the special guest.

The programme will feature traditional cultural performances representing various linguistic minority communities in Nagaland, with the organisers stating that the presentations are intended to celebrate cultural diversity while fostering unity.

A key component of the conclave will be an interactive dialogue on issues affecting linguistic minority communities and other vulnerable groups. Discussions will focus on access to basic amenities, protection of constitutional and human rights, social justice, inclusive development, and ensuring a life of dignity for all sections of society.

The Forum will also introduce a community welfare project aimed at supporting physically challenged and specially abled persons from economically weaker sections across the State. According to the release, the initiative seeks to improve access to welfare schemes, essential services, assistive devices, skill development opportunities, and community support to promote inclusion and self-reliance.

The event will also include youth interactions, cultural presentations, and the presentation of the LMFN Yuva Excellence Ratna Award 2026, which recognises young individuals from minority communities for outstanding contributions in social service and other fields.

LMFN has invited members of the non-Naga minority communities in Nagaland, particularly youth and students, to participate in the conclave and support efforts towards unity, cultural harmony, social justice, and inclusive development.
