Major General Vikas Lakhera, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (IGAR) North today flagged-in the ten-day National Integration tour for students on their return to Kohima from Delhi.
This tour package was basically for Delhi and Dehradun.
The vision of this National Integration Tour is to expose students to other parts of the country and to offer the children an opportunity to explore outside their state and gain fruitful knowledge to boost their confidence and meet the future challenges.
Speaking at the flagging-in ceremony held at Kenguruse Auditorium this morning, Kohima, Maj Gen Lakhera challenged the students to dream big and excel in life.
“Without hard work, nothing happens,” he said.
If you work hard, your coming age will be wonderful, full of joy and full of good time, Maj Gen Lakhera said.
Stating that they are hope for the family, he told them not to let their parent’s aspiration down.
Maj Gen Lakhera thanked the parents for allowing their children for this National Integration Tour programme.
Flagged off from Kohima on October 27 last, this National Integration Tour was organized by Kohima battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector AR/ HQ IGAR (North) and Director General of the Assam Rifles (DGAR).
20 students including four teacher in-charges from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima, Modern Higher Secondary School Kohima, Little Flower Higher Secondary School Kohima and Christ King Higher Secondary School Kohima joined the tour.
Apart from educational and inspirational visit, the students visited Forest Research Institute in Dehradun, Gopinath Market, Shopping mall in Dehi, Buddha Temple, Deer Park in Dehradun.
They got an opportunity to interact with cadets of Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun.
They also visited India Gate, Manekshaw Centre and other places of interest in Delhi. The Team also witnessed wreath laying at National War Memorial in New Delhi and paid homage to Late Capt N Kenguruse, MVC.
They were thrilled to see the state of the art infrastructure at New Delhi and Dehradun, and felt more confident after undergoing this exposure.
Later, the team has been felicitated with souvenir.
Meanwhile, the participants and parents thanked Assam Rifles for their support and initiative and look forward for more such exposure in future.
