‘Master’ of Naga Cuisine: Naga Chef Season 6 final today

Four finalists Lipok Longkumer, Vikhuli Achumi, Dennis Suohu and Mhomo Ngullie will compete for the penultimate event of the final rounds of the coveted Naga Chef Season 6 at Naga Heritage Village Kisama on December 9.  

The annual Naga Chef competition is being organized by Synergy Group Enterprise supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland.  

A pioneering culinary competition in Nagaland and the North-East, it aims to promote Naga indigenous cuisine and to provide a platform to all Naga cooks who have a true passion to showcase the age-old Naga recipes to the world.  

After 5 grueling cooking rounds at Machaki along with four other contestants selected from the screening rounds, the finalists have been competing for the Business/Entrepreneur title which carries cash award of Rs 3 lakh.  

The final round which started on December 1, will conclude on Sunday. However, the winner will be declared only on December 10 during the valedictory function of the Hornbill Festival 2018.  

For the Business/Entrepreneur Round, the judges of the competition Chef Joel Basumatry, Chef Alemjungla Jamir and Chef Rovi Chase have been judging on their Customer Service, Team work, Pressure task, Food preparation, Coordination and their Business skills.  

The food stalls for the competition is located above Naga Wrestling Amphitheatre, behind Bamboo Hall, Kisama.  

Team Naga Chef has extended invitation to everyone to visit the Naga Chef arena to witness the competition, support the contestants and taste the delicacies of the rich Naga indigenous cuisine
