Minister Temjen Imna Along challenges Naga youth

Stating that a time has come to look to the future, minister for higher and technical education Temjen Imna Along today urged upon the youth to compete with the rest of the world with “our skills and abilities.”


He expressed happiness to the Nagaland Wrestling Association for conducting a world class wrestling tournament at Kohima.


“This is just an initiative of not only opening our hearts but also our minds to the world,” adding “we want you to know that we are really to open up our heart collectively for collective vision of growth, development, prosperity and strength for our people.” 


He said this while addressing the inaugural function of 12th Naga Open Wrestling 2019 here today at Kohima Local Ground.


Stressing on the need to make the youth grow in holistic manner, he said “Let the young hearts join together, work hard and show the world and the country with the ambitions that we are capable.”


“My young friends, let us work hard, put our sincere efforts, and not take things lightly towards adventure that would bring prosperity and progress to our community and to our people in Nagaland,” he said.


He said the PDA government is working hard to harness the potential of the youth not only by words but by deeds.


He requested that people stand united “for our common future.”


The minister said that the generation has changed and “we have chosen to take up hard work and sincere efforts,” adding that the people have chosen to go for peace and development and prosperity of our people.


He said those who are making the efforts, “we need to congratulate them, we need to ask them to go ahead to bring a lasting peace for our people and for also the government, we seek your support, we seek your strength, we seek your collective help in allowing our people to grow together,” he said.


“Today, India is a country which has opened up to welcome us, it wants us to participate, it wants us to strengthen not only in the field of business and politics but also in the field of sports,” he said.
