Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): The Ao Senden said that the report of a returnee from Chennai being tested COVID-19 positive in Tuensang on May 27, after being sent off from Kohima on May 26 without completion or testing procedures' has laid bare the downright mismanagement of the crisis and utter incompetence of those who are supervising the situation. “This has not only caused panic and instilled fear psychosis among the people of the various districts but has also actually put their lives and wellbeing in danger,” the Ao Senden said in its memorandum to the Chief Minister on May 27. “The most disturbing aspect of this fiasco is that the pandemic would not have reached Tuensang today if only the returnees were quarantined in Kohima for just one more day till the test results were out,” it stated. The Ao Senden demanded for stern and immediate punitive action to be initiated against those responsible for the debacle, stating that they must be relieved of his/her responsibility with immediate effect. It further demanded that the whole system be overhauled and more competent managers be entrusted to manage the situation, “as we are dealing with the lives of people here.”
