The decomposed body of Kiyevi Zhimo, aged over 80, from Lizu New Village, who went missing on April 18, was discovered in a remote forested area near Shoixe Village under Satakha Subdivision. The body was found by a local youth who had gone to catch frogs near a river approximately one kilometre from the village boundary—an area reportedly preserved by the village for biodiversity and Mithun conservation.

Abet Awomi, the youth who first spotted the body, told the media that he was alone when he made the discovery at around 8:30 p.m. Upon confirming that the remains were human, he immediately informed the village pastor, who in turn alerted the village chief and GBs. After verifying the remains, the authorities were informed on September 6 early morning, and the police were called in for further investigation.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the identity of the body could not be confirmed immediately. However, family members of Kiyevi Zhimo, who had been missing since April 18, were called to the site. The identification was later confirmed through his clothing and physical features.

Speaking to the media, family members of the deceased shared that Kiyevi had been suffering from mental health issues for the past 3–4 years. They recalled that he had gone missing multiple times in the past but was always found and brought home.

On April 18, he had reportedly attempted to sneak out around 2–3 am, but was noticed and confronted by family members. Despite their intervention, he went missing later that morning around 8–9 am. An FIR was filed, and a search operation was launched with the help of villagers and colony members, but efforts to locate him proved unsuccessful.

Rev. Nisheto Chishi, Pastor of Shoixe Baptist Church, and V. Hukheto Jimo, GB of Shoixe Village, confirmed that officials from the Satakha Police Department, SDPO Zunheboto, EAC Satoi, Medical Department, and Dubashi from Satakha all arrived at the site to investigate and verify the body.
