MP Tokheho included in Delimitation Commission

New Delhi, May 27 (MExN): The Lok Sabha Speaker has appointed Nagaland’s lone Member in  the Lok Sabha, Tokheho Yepthomi as the Associate Members of the Delimitation Commission. 


Tokheho was among the members nominated by the Speaker from four NE states Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur as well as the UT of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 5 of the Delimitation Act, 2002. According to a Lok Sabha Bulletin issued on May 26, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) MP from Outer Manipur, Dr Lorho S. Pfoze is also a member along with Dr. Ranjan Singh Rajkumar for the state. 


Both Assam and UT of J&K have five MPs each while Arunachal as two MPs as Associate Members of Delimitation Commission for their respective state. 


According to a PTI report on May 10, setting in motion the process for redrawing Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, the Delimitation Commission has written to the Speakers of the LS and Assemblies of the four NE States to name associate members of the panel.
