Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): Nagaland Independent (I) Sainik School Company of National Cadet Corps (NCC) organized its 10th Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC X) for the training year 2022-23.  

During the camp, cadets were imparted Weapon Training, Map Reading, Battle & Field Craft training. The camp was dotted with various activities as weapon firing, parade drill, tent pitching, cross country, and cultural show. Intercompany competitions were organized, where a total number of 219 cadets, being distributed as Alpha, Bravo and Charlie companies of senior and junior division participated. 

“They would be awarded with A and B Certificate of NCC respectively, under the NCC Group Head Quarters Kohima,” stated a press release received here. 

Maj Gen Sumit Talwar, Chief of Staff 3 Corps & the Chairman Local Board of Administration gave away the prizes for the best cadet in Junior & Senior Division to Cadet Yongsen Peong & Cadet Karan Ahlawat respectively. The overall Best Trophy award went to Alpha Company. 

Earlier, the camp was inaugurated by Gp Capt RK Yadav, Principal Sainik School Punglwa. It was conducted under the leadership of Lt Col Leena Bajaj, the Officer Commanding for NCC at the School. The Instructors of 1 Air Force Air NCC and 24 Nagaland Girls Bn visited the school to conduct firing competition, it stated.
