Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): Nagaland’s cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases reached 24,961 on Sunday after the state reported 111 new cases from eight districts.
The number of new cases detected in the state as per the district is: Kohima-33, Tuensang-25, Dimapur-21, Mokokchung-16, Zunheboto-8, Mon-5, Peren-2, and Wokha-1.
The death toll in the state remained at 473 as no COVID related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the health department’s daily bulletin. A total of 14 other deaths categorised as ‘not COVID-19 related’ have also been reported in the state, as per the bulletin.
On the other hand, 73 patients who previously tested positive for the virus have recovered on Sunday, taking the tally of recoveries to 22,251. As of June 27, the number of active cases in the state stands at 1,523.
Positivity rate and active case status
As per the bulletin, Sunday’s fresh cases were detected from among 1,343 samples that were tested, returning a daily positivity rate of 6.20 percent. The national daily positivity rate stands at 2.82 percent.
A total of 64 fresh cases were detected from traced contacts, 39 from self tests and random tests, 6 from armed forces/security personnel, and 1 each from returnees/travellers and front line workers.
The bulletin indicated that 1,311 active cases were asymptomatic, 154 mild symptomatic, 33 were moderate on oxygen, 11 were severe on oxygen, 7 were in ICU without oxygen and 7 were in ICU with oxygen.
