Nagaland has administered a total of 17,39,837 COVID-19 vaccine doses under the Government of India’s free nationwide vaccination campaign launched on January 16, 2021, according to data presented in the Lok Sabha on August 8 by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW).
The total includes 9,23,955 first doses, 7,44,983 second doses, and 70,899 precaution doses for eligible beneficiaries aged 12 years and above.
Within the North East, Assam recorded the highest number of doses administered at 5,03,35,778, followed by Tripura (59,18,997), Manipur (32,69,452), Meghalaya (26,26,046), Arunachal Pradesh (19,24,584), Mizoram (17,93,298), Nagaland (17,39,837), and Sikkim (13,60,477).
Nationwide, a total of 220 crore-plus doses have been administered since the launch of the campaign, with Uttar Pradesh leading at 39,20,12,735 doses, followed by Maharashtra (17,79,85,425), Madhya Pradesh (13,39,40,247), Gujarat (12,81,06,071), and Karnataka (12,21,68,236).
The campaign, covering all states and union territories, provides free vaccination to all eligible beneficiaries. The Ministry confirmed that the initiative has also benefited the Shahjahanpur Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh, along with the rest of the country.
The figures were tabled in the Lok Sabha on August 8, 2025, in response to an unstarred question by Shri Arun Kumar Sagar, and were provided by the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav.
