Nagaland BJP cannot absolve itself from the state’s pitiable condition: NPCC

Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): The NPCC on Friday censured the Nagaland BJP for allegedly flouting safety rules to address a press conference at Kohima on May 13 and said that the party cannot absolve itself from the ‘pitiable’ conditions in the state.

In a press release, the NPCC Communications Department stated that the press conference was conducted “just to parrot the contents of their National President JP Nadda’s third grade response letter to Congress President Madam Sonia Gandhi.” It said that the objective of the press conference was to spread positivity about Modi government which, it said, “is in a freefall, unable to control the raging pandemic that has engulfed the nation, affecting people across all sections of the society.” It also accused the BJP of trying to term the ‘factual position’ and valid suggestions of the Congress as false propaganda.

The release also stated that the pandemic, migrant crisis, economic devastation, vaccine rollout policy and the deadly second wave as predicted by Rahul Gandhi had been proven right.

“The BJP government had even declared ‘Corona endgame’ in March 2021 and congratulated PM Modi for defeating corona. Moreover, the government had foolishly exported 6.60 crore vaccine doses to more than 60 countries and even proudly declared in UN assembly that ‘India gave more COVID vaccine to the world than own people,’ all this, in order to boost the personal image of Modi,” the NPCC stated.

“The truth about devastation happening across the country is unfolding before our very own eyes and this cannot be simply brushed off to suit BJPs narrative,’ it asserted.

Further, the party stated that the Nagaland BJP which is a part of the PDA government “cannot absolve itself from the pitiable condition of our infrastructures and near total breakdown of state government machinery in dealing with shortage of vaccine, hospital beds, rising number of COVID cases and deaths across the state.”

It reminded the office bearers of Nagaland BJP that “it is futile to keep parroting the contents of their Delhi leaders while remaining oblivious to the death and sufferings happening all around.”

“We also dare the state BJP leaders to try explaining the positivity of Modi government to those suffering, sick, dying or burying their loved ones. They will surely get their answers,” it added.
