Nagaland BJP presidential team tours Tuensang

TUENSANG, MARCH 14 (MExN): The Nagaland State BJP presidential tour team arrived in Tuensang on March 13. 

Nagaland BJP President and Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along with a host of State officials arrived in Tuensang on March 11 as part of the tour. He proceeded to the new district office building and inaugurated it for the use of the district party. The dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev N Somba Chang, Pastor, Police Baptist Church, Tuensang.

The team also held a meeting with the party Karyakartas of Tuensang district.

He said that there was a time when people of Nagaland took the BJP “under wrong concept and feared to join the party but today people's mindset have changed.” 

“They have understood what the BJP stands for. And now our party is slowly gaining ground in the state. BJP means 'Saabka saat Saabka Vikas Sapka Viswas.’It is neither Hindu nor Muslim, Christian or any religious groups but it belongs to 'Janta' which means public or people,” Along was quoted as stating in a press release from B Ramchy Chang, General Secretary (Adm) BJP Tuensang District. 

He further stated that “without investment, without work, without physical sweats, we will have nothing to harvest.” “You are not workers of election time alone. The Lotus on your clothes today should be made permanent mark on your hearts.

We are soldiers of the discipline. Make a dream beyond you so that Nagaland can be a peaceful and developed land one fine day even though we pass away," the Nagaland BJP President added. 

Earlier the programme was chaired by Hankam Yim, Treasurer, District BJP, while Helimong Chang, President, 53 A/C Mandal pronounced the invocation prayer. Welcome address was delivered by Y Changsang, President, BJP Tuensang District.

Short speeches were also heard from Zavi Kezo, State Secretary; Wanphong Konyak, President, State ST Morcha; N Kaimang on behalf of State Executive Members; Yonghopi on behalf of the state Council Members; Y Kaimang on behalf of district Morchas; and Limongsi, President, 52 A/C on behalf of all the five Mandals. The vote of thanks was given by Pukha Khiam, District Vice President.

After a mass benediction prayer the meeting was concluded with mass singing of the India National Anthem.
