KHRU emergency meet on March 17
Kohima, March 16 (MExN): Kohima Hotels & Restaurants Union (KHRU) has convened an emergency meeting on March 17 at 4:00 pm at Hotel Japfü, Kohima. Stating this in a release, KHRU president Khrielakuo Sekhose informed that the meeting will discuss matter relating to COVID-19. All the hotels and restaurants have been asked to send a representative each at the meeting positively.
KSCDL informs
Kohima, March 16 (MExN): A meeting of the Smart City Advisory Forum (SCAF), KSCDL will take place on March 18 at 2.00 PM in the Conference Hall of the Kohima Smart City Development Ltd. Office, Super Market Complex, Kohima. All the concerned members have been requested to attend the said meeting positively.
Inauguration of Kigwema Village Council Hall postponed
Kohima, March 16 (MExN): In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the inauguration programme of Kigwema Village Council Hall which was scheduled on March 19 has being postponed till situation gets normalised. This decision has been taken in response to the call made by the Chief Minister to avoid maximum public gatherings for the time being, a press release informed.
FNBA postpones general assembly
Kohima, March 16 (MExN): The Fellowship of Naga Baptist Associations (FNBA) has postponed its general assembly indefinitely till further notice which was scheduled to be held on March 17 and 18 at Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kohima due to outbreak of corona virus. Meanwhile, FNBA general secretary Rev H Gideon appealed every association and church member to uphold in their prayers for God’s protection of our land from the pandemic Covid-19 and for the recovery of the affected land and people. The Association assured that it will extend all possible service to the needy and its cooperation to prevent the dreaded disease.
NSCN (IM) condolences
Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of Aktak Konyak, Tatar, from Ukha village under Konyak Region on March 13. In a condolence message issued through its MIP, the NSCN (IM) stated that Aktak served the Naga nation with unwavering national spirit until his demise. “The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifice for Naga nation ever be cherished by all,” the condolence message read. The NSCN (IM) conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
NEAN Dimapur launches drop in centre
Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): To commemorate the launching of its Drop in Centre (DiC), the North East Artists Network (NEAN) Dimapur held a combined meeting with Alcoholic Anonymous (AA), Ao Church, Diphupar, on March 15 at Stone Park, NEZCC, Dimapur. The programme was chaired by the office bearer of Alcoholic Anonymous and welcome address was delivered by L Yanger Imsong, President of AA. NEAN in charge Toshi Jamir highlighted the vision of NEAN and services provided at the Drop in Centre. During the programme, Taka Jamir, AA Convenor, shared in brief about how AA came into being, their objectives, programs and activities undertaken by the group. He lamented that alcoholics are suffering because of lack of support and services. Jamir expressed gratitude to the Ao Church, Dipuphar for organising Detoxification Camp (known as Life Transformation Camp) through which many alcoholics were reformed. A short interaction session was held between the NEAN officials and AA group, where AA members shared their experiences, grievances, struggles and testimonies. The programme ended with a ‘Serenity Prayer,’ the press release stated.
