Samagra Shiksha Nagaland to host mega PTM
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 6 (MExN): Samagra Shiksha Nagaland has directed School Heads in all government schools with foundational stages to conduct a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on October 9. This event, a first of its kind, aligns with the objectives of Cycle-3 of the Nagaland Literacy and Numeracy Fest 2.0. The Mega PTM is being held on a single date across the state to foster community participation in education. By engaging parents, the initiative aims to raise awareness about the significant impact of parental involvement on children’s learning outcomes. Additionally, the meeting will focus on discussing the learning progress of students and highlighting the state’s efforts in enhancing education at the foundational stage. The State Mission Director encouraged parents and stakeholders to participate actively in this initiative to witness and celebrate the educational development of their children.
MCC removes SMC Chairman GMS
Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): The Midland Colony Council (MCC), Dimapur has reportedly resolved to remove one Munthin Newmai, SMC Chairman GMS and Midland Council Executive Member “effective immediately.” The MCC Chairman R Aosanen Longkumer and Secretary, Kethoyopo Pucho in a press release stated that it was resolved during the Midland Council executive meeting held on September 7at GMS Building Midland. The council alleged that the SMC Chairman of GMS Midland was selected on November 10, 2022 by Midland Council Executive, “but reappointed himself for an additional three-year term till 2027 without Council consent.” MCC said that “his actions sparked controversy, opposed Council decisions, and invited external interference, harming the peace and harmony of the Midland community and government establishments.” To address these concerns, the Council has appointed a new SMC Chairman, it informed. Further, it stated that “this press release is issued to clarify the Midland Council’s position, as the issue has garnered significant attention in News media, social media, and interdepartmental communications.”
Nagaland Inland Waterways Board reconstituted

The Governor of Nagaland has re-constituted Nagaland Inland Waterways Board for effective co-ordination and implementation of the projects in the state with immediate effect. K. G. Kenye, minister, power & parliamentary affairs will be the chairman with Chief Secretary, Nagaland as co-opted chairman and Secretary, Transport as member secretary. The members includes; Finance Commissioner, Development Commissioner, Commissioner & Secretary (Justice & Law), Commissioner & Secretary (Works & Housing), Commissioner & Secretary (Land Revenue), Commissioner & Secretary (Water Resources) and Secretary, Power.
