
NECU elects new office bearers
Kohima, July 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) has elected its new team of office bearers during its general meeting on June 25 at Hotel Japfu Kohima. NECU will now be headed by Kevichulie Chadi as president for the tenure 2022-27. Vice president- Er. Lhiwepe Khutsoh (Kohima) and Toishe Achumi (Dimapur), general secretary- Vizovolie Nyekha, joint secretary- Ketholoutuo Belho (Kohima), D. Yongyak Konyak (ENPO) and Imlikaba (Dimapur), information & publicity-Kezholuzo Nyekha, finance secretary- Margpokba Jamir, treasurer- Neivotuo Yiese, action committee convenor- H. Keduolhuolie Rio, co- convenor- H. Thong and Shikato Rotokha as advisor.
WSSU appeals educational institutions on Tulini festival
Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): The Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) has appealed the schools, colleges and universities to refrain from holding any events on account of Tulini festival. A press note from the WSSU Media Cell said that as per government rules, Tulini, a festival of Sumi community is a restricted holiday. ‘Hence, students would not be able to attend their respective classes as it a part of our culture and traditionm’ it stated. The WSSU has appealed to all educational institutions to refrain from holding any exams, tests and functions during the festival period i.e. from July 6 to 8. “It shall hold the concerned authorities liable for the losses and damages incurred by the students, in the event, if any exams and functions are conducted,” it stated.
