
Governor extends Tokhü Emong greetings
KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, La Ganesan has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the Lotha community on the occasion of the Tokhü Emong festival. The Tokhü Emong is the harvest festival of the Lothas and is also a festival of thanksgiving, sharing and reconciliation, but the most beautiful aspect is a celebration of brotherhood, forgiveness and oneness. May the bonds of unity and oneness be renewed and may it guide us in the year ahead. I wish you all good health, joy, peace and prosperity, the Governor through a press communiqué wished.
SMPCS meeting on Nov 11
Kohima, November 5 (MExN): The annual general meeting of Star Multi Purpose Co-operative Society will be held on November 11 at 11:00 AM in the Society Building, D. Block, Kohima. All the members have been requested to attend the meeting positively. The members have also been informed to bring their share for necessary update.
Municipal committee to meet apex bodies
Kohima, November 5 (MExN): A consultative meeting with the apex body of civil societies has been scheduled for November 6 at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima to deliberate on matters related to the Nagaland Municipal (Bill), 2023. Accordingly, the Deputy Chief Minister and Convenor of the Select Committee on the Nagaland Municipal (Bill), 2023, have invited the Central Nagaland Tribes Council, Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organization, and Tenyimi Union Nagaland to participate in the meeting, with their President, General Secretary, and one additional member. Select Committee members are also urged to ensure their attendance at this important meeting, as informed in an official release."
Mount Tiyi College signs MoU with Lotha Academy
WOKHA, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The Lotha Naga Cultural Resource Centre of Mount Tiyi College, Wokha on November 4 signed a memorandum of understanding with Lotha Academy, Wokha to further the shared goals of disseminating traditional knowledge, preserving the Lotha cultural heritage and promoting the Lotha indigenous language amongst the students’ community in particular and people of Wokha in general. A short programme was held in the IQAC Conference Hall of Mount Tiyi College where Dr Libemo Kithan, Associate Professor and Coordinator of Lotha Naga Cultural Resource Centre, Mount Tiyi College gave a brief introduction of the Cultural Centre and the purpose of collaboration with Lotha Academy, Wokha. The programme was attended by Vice Principal, Sntimenla Jamir, and her colleagues from Mount Tiyi College, Wokha and Father Abraham, President and his colleagues from Lotha Academy, Wokha.
