Kohima, July 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Police personnel of Narcotic Cell PS Mobile unit on July 29 at around 2:00 pm, ‘based on reliable information’ intercepted a Guwahati-bound Maruti Suzuki Swift VXI, B/R No. AP39LK-4717 (Pearl Arctic White) at NH-2, near bridge between Khuzama and Viswema village, which was coming from Imphal, Manipur.
The SP (Crime) & PRO, PHQ in a press release stated that during thorough search of the vehicle resulted in recovery of 10 packets of suspected opium weighing approximately 10 Kg, which was concealed inside the spare tyre of the vehicle. Accordingly, the driver of the vehicle namely, Abhijit Hazarika (24) was arrested and the illegal contraband duly seized.
A case has been registered for further investigation.
