Nagaland prepares for ‘India@75’ celebration

Kohima, March 4 (MExN): Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam, IAS informed that the Government of India will be celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to commemorate the 75th anniversary on India’s freedom at the national and international level. 

The Prime Minister of India, will launch the opening ceremony on March 12 from Gujarat, he stated. 

In this connection, a meeting was convened by the Chief Secretary with officers from various State Government Departments on March 3. Alam said that programmes for celebration will begin 75 weeks prior to August 15, 2022 and accordingly March 12 has been chosen as the date of launch of the celebrations. He further informed that on this date, concurrently, events related to ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ or ‘India@75’ will unfold in all State and Union Territories of India. 

The meeting decided that Nagaland, along with the rest of the Nation, will celebrate India@75 on March 12 with a befitting launching programme at the State Capital. The meeting also decided to chalk out a calendar of events for the next 75 weeks.
