Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): The Nagaland BJP today felicitated Aienla Jamir, who was recently inducted as a National Secretary of Mahila Morcha, the women's wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Jamir is the first lady from Nagaland State to be inducted in the National level and also the only lady from the entire North Eastern States to be inducted in the National Mahila Morcha during this tenure, informed a press release from the state unit.
State President & Minister Temjen Imna Along and his State Office Bearers paid a courtesy visit to Jamir at her residence in Dimapur to felicitate her for her achievement, added the release from the BJP State Media Cell.
She was former member of State BJP Disciplinary Action Committee, Core Committee member, and Co-Incharge of Phek District, it said.
By virtue of her post, she has become the Ex-Officio member with entitlement to all official party programmes and meetings, it added.
Jamir joined active politics as a BJP member in 1998, and remained loyal to the party with no other political affiliation whatsoever till date and because of her steadiness, integrity and principles, she has been inducted into the National level, the release maintained.
During the visit, party President Imna Along also noted that her appointment in the National level representing Nagaland State BJP and the entire North Eastern region is a proud moment for BJP Nagaland in particular, it said.
He also assured her of ‘relentless support’ from BJP Nagaland and appealed her to project Nagaland State BJP in positive light as she ventured out to the National level, it added.
PDA to complete ‘full term’
As per the release, he also urged her to convey the message to Delhi that the coalition partnership of People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government in Nagaland “will complete its full term.”
"BJP shall stand by the alliance as long as centre directs us to be,” he stated.
Jamir, while expressing her gratitude maintained that she will work hard to take BJP forward in the best of her capacity.
She also implied to all BJP Karyakartas that she will continue to give her full support to State BJP at all times to come, the release added.
