The State Level Science Fair (Seminar & Exhibition) 2024 took place today at Mt Tabor Retreat Centre, Kohima under the aegis of Directorate of School Education in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.

In a contest for seminar on “Artificial Intelligence: Potential & Concerns,” Konathung Daniel Patton from Jubilee Memorial School Mokokchung bagged the first position.

Ngakusipong from Wela Foundation School Tuensang and Mulotong Aida Imsong from Mount Mary Higher Secondary School, Chumoukedima stood 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In an Exhibition competition on the theme “Science and technology for society,” Takasashi of Government High School Thahekhu bagged the first position in individual category.

Mobalongyang of Govt Higher Secondary School Tuensang and Alomka of Bethany School Zunheboto stood second and third position respectively.

In Group category, Limsowa & Aosenla of Mayangnokcha Govt. Higher Secondary School Mokokchung bagged the first position.

Seni Tep & H. Jenkap Konyak of Govt. High School Tesophenyu stood second position while Shengmao & Khangriu P of Govt. Higher Secondary School Tuensang bagged third position.

Earlier, T. Yanpvuthung Kikon, Additional Secretary to the Govt of Nagaland, School Education & SCERT graced the introductory session as the special guest while Kekuneil Ltu, Scientist 'B', Directorate of Science & Technology, Kohima was the theme speaker.

The programme was compered by Avitoli Achumi, Biology teacher, St. Mary's Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima while welcome address was delivered by Emilo Patton, District Education Officer, Kohima.

Students of Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima presented special number.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Gloria Ezung, Assistant Director.

The panel of judges included; James Sema, Sr. Lecturer SCERT, Leelama Nyusou, Sr. Lecturer SCERT, Vepilu Chuzho, Research Associate SCERT, Vilakhole Naki, Research Associate SCERT, Lipoknukshi Jamir, TRA SCERT, Temsukaba, TRA SCERT, Pelengulie Chucha, Scientist 'C' DST, Ditho Katiry, Scientist 'C' DST and Onongoto Soleho, Chief Mentor DST.
