Provides financial assistance to ‘less privileged’ students undergoing training
Dimapur, April 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Women Voluntary Association (NVWA), as part of its yearly activity visited Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research Centre (CIHSR) Referral Hospital, Dimapur on April 13.
According to a DIPR report, the team led by its President, Kaisa Rio provided financial assistance to the “less privileged” students undergoing training at CIHSR Nursing Institute.
During the visit, while highlighting about the association, Kaisa Rio said that NVWA has been assisting projects and providing financial support to organizations in need. She mentioned that the objective of the association was to provide assistance to those in need in whichever way possible for a good cause of the society.
She acknowledged CISHR for giving their best in delivering the best towards the service of humanity. On behalf of the association, she assured to extend support even in the days to come for accomplishing excellence.
CIHSR Director, Dr Sedevi while briefing about the hospital mentioned that it was established in November 24, 2007 governed by tripartite partnership CMC Vellore, EHA and Nagaland government with a vision to develop Christ-centred leadership, transforming communities through innovation compassion and excellence on the motto “Serve Nurture Transform”. The objectives of the hospital emphasises to transform it into a centre of excellence, provide training and academic centre, focus on networking and develop community of caring.
He maintained that the hospital comprises of 200 beds secondary and mid tertiary centre, including 530 staff and hundred outsourced staff, it also has a cancer centre and included specialist on gastroenterology, cardiology and dialysis. In regard to academics, the hospitals has been providing DNB post graduates in medicine, family medicine and surgery, college of nursing- BSc, PCBSC and GNM, allied health sciences focusing on five subjects, CLHTC-lay leaders training, bedside assistants-NSDC and has a school for children with special needs named as precious Gems school.
Highlighting on the student scholarship fund, Dr Sedevi mentioned that contributions are carried out from staff and other friends, it also comprises of committee for administration of the funds wherein SOP and criteria for selection and administration of fund is conducted and is being benefitted by poor meritorious students from areas of special need.
Later, the association also visited the institute, hostel and library of the nursing institute.
