Placing an emphasis towards equipping newly passed out students of Class XII science stream with prerequisite knowledge of the different career options available for them, an awareness programme on the theme, “Name your Career,” was organised by Royal Academy at Europa Inn, Dimapur on July 23.
The programme aimed to provide detailed information on various career options in science stream like NEET, JEE, MBBS, BDS, BAMS etc and the ideas on The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) which the Central government has made mandatory for all the students who wish to enroll in various central universities.
Special guest, Dr Rokoliebi Khate, Assistant MS of Dimapur District Hospital, shared his experiences and the decisions he made in pursuing a medical degree and later on becoming a doctor. He also encouraged the students to be diligent and wise in choosing their career options as it will decide for them who they will become in the future.
During the programme, a host of speakers from different educational backgrounds motivated the students to be inquisitive, ambitious and hardworking in this current competitive age as well.
Medo Sekhose, one of the officials at Royal Academy explained that the motive behind this event was to bring awareness to the students, especially from science background, of the different courses available for them. Besides that, she pointed out that a lot of the parents and students from the state are still not aware about the introduction of CUET from this academic year as such, the organisers hoped that the orientation will be helpful in bringing attention to this fact.
“We sent out the invitation to more than 150 students about this event and today the turnout was quite good as the room was almost full,” she added.
