Niuland, March 27 (MExN): The District Administration Niuland and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (Sankalp) organised a Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan programme at Government High School Aghunaqa on March 27 to raise awareness on substance abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle.
The programme was chaired by Tunato I Zhimo, Gender Specialist. It began with an invocation by Kum Vikali L Chishi, followed by a special presentation by Merryka Sumi, Accounts Assistant.
A painting competition on the theme “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs” was also conducted, where students expressed their views on substance abuse. Prizes were distributed to the winners by Kelengunuo Solo, EAC Niuland.
Delivering the keynote address, M Khenpa, EAC Aghunaqa stressed the need for collective efforts in addressing substance abuse and urged all to join the movement towards a Nasha Mukht Bharat.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Diketo S Jimomi, Gender Specialist.
