Nagaland Youth Resources & Sports Advisor Er Zale Neikha today inaugurated the new building of Government High School, Sakhabama in Kohima district. It was constructed under Samagra Shiksha.
Addressing the gathering, Neikha said a government school is there in all the villages to reach the people with the educational requirements. However, with the introduction of private schools, many families tend to send their children to study in reputed private schools with the feeling that government schools do not provide quality education. Nonetheless, he asserted that the government has introduced many schemes and projects to develop the educational system.
He also said that enrollment of less number of students does not define a government school to be bad compared to that of private school. In fact, all teachers of government schools are well qualified to teach and nurture the students in a proper way, he said while encouraging the parents to send their children to government schools.
He urged upon all to give their best effort to upgrade GHS Sakhabama to that of higher secondary in the near future.
He also appealed the parents not to think that their part is over once they send their children to school but to always guide them with their homework and activities given in school so that they can learn not just from the teachers but from the parents “as the root of student is firstly embedded by their parents at home.”
Further, Er Neikha expressed happiness on the assurance of the School Education department to construct a teachers’ quarter, bring more teachers for the students to compete in the advanced educational system and hostel for the students to pursue their goals without troubles of searching home-stay.
Kevileno Angami, Commissioner & Secretary for School Education, SCERT and Economics & Statistics and Wonthungo Tsopoe, Director, School Education also present on the occasion.
GHS Sakhabama headmaster Rukuvito Kikhi shared a brief report of the school while GethemGo Sports International director Dr Viposa Kiso proposed vote of thanks.
