KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Kohima in partnership with Chizami Students Union (CSU) conducted awareness programme on Cyber Security, Emerging Technologies, Digital Payment and Digital Marketing for teachers, students, elderly residents and women from October 26 to 28 in Chizami under Phek district.
Atoshe Lohe (Senior Forensic Analyst), W Orendo Kumar Singh (Senior Technical officer), Lavito Achumi (Faculty) and Kelhouzhakuo Yhome (Intern) were the resource persons.
On October 26, 175 students from Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Eastern Mission High School (EMHS) and GM Government High School Chizami attended the ‘Students Awareness program’ on ’Cyber Security and Emerging Technologies.’
The 2 days training for educators took place at Goyiepra Memorial Government High School, with active participation from 55 teachers from Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Eastern Mission High School (EMHS), GM Government High School, Government Primary School, Chizami Village & Town, and Government Middle School.
The objective of the training is to equip and empower the teachers with fundamental digital skills to develop their effectiveness in the classroom and expand diverse opportunities for the students.
It focused on digital literacy and the basics of computer using and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by CSU president Khrolhiweu Tsuhah. Greeting was shared by Khrowelo Thopi, Chairman School Management Committee.
Furthermore, various awareness workshops on subjects like ‘Cyber Security, Emerging Technologies, Digital Marketing, and Digital Payments’ were also conducted at Enhulumi, Sumi Village and Chizami Village.
NIELIT is an Autonomous Scientific Society under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India, carries out Human Resource Development and related activities in the area of Information, Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT).
NIELIT is actively involved in Research & Development activities to foster innovation and advancement in electronics and information technology, skill development initiatives, particularly in the context of the "Digital India" campaign.
The institute plays a pivotal role in enhancing digital literacy by offering courses like Digital Literacy Course (DLC) to empower individuals with computer skills.
The training programme in Chizami was conducted under the initiative of North East Capacity Building NECB2 and funded by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt of India.
