Kohima, September 19 (MExN): The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, inaugurated its two-day Mega Job Fair 2024 across Nagaland, with events taking place simultaneously in Kohima, Dimapur, and Chuchuyimlang. The fair aims to connect job seekers with employers, attracting participation from a range of industries and young professionals seeking employment opportunities.
Delivering the keynote address, L. Lanuwabang, Director of NIELIT Kohima, stressed the importance of reskilling and upskilling in the rapidly changing job market. He noted that automation and artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping industries, urging job seekers to remain adaptable and future-ready. He emphasized the growing need for IT and technology skills across various fields and encouraged participants to consider private-sector opportunities as well as government roles. “The experience and exposure you gain from these roles will help shape your career and enhance your competitiveness in the long run,” he said, expressing gratitude to the employers for their involvement and advising candidates to explore opportunities beyond their comfort zones.
Joint Director Morimenba Amer delivered the welcome address, and Moakumla offered an invocation.
The job fair featured 15 prominent employers from industries such as digital marketing, software development, automobiles, logistics, construction, food processing, printing, and telecommunications. With over 1,500 job openings, the fair presented opportunities ranging from local positions in Nagaland to roles in Tier 1 cities across India and even overseas placements, particularly in Europe. The highest salary package offered was INR 33.56 lakh per annum.
