NITI Nagaland celebrates 25th foundation day

Nationalist Institute of Innovation and Technology (NITI) celebrated their 25th foundation day at its Dimapur centre located in Marwari Patti on March 27. Run by the Lord’s Infotech Management Private Limited, NITI is regarded as among the first compute training institutes in the State. 

Established in the year 2000, NITI was introduced to provide computer skills for the citizens of Dimapur, stated its Founder and Managing Director, Ajay Sethi. He shared that at time there was a lot of skepticism from relatives for opening up such an institute. But due to a personal love for technology and to help the people of Nagaland, the institute was opened, he added. Moreover, Sethi mentioned that it was among the first such places to provide internet services for the people. 

We had introduced several curriculums, including expanding of seating capacity from 112 to 504, he reported. Moreover, the institute has tied up with several schools and colleges and has managed to provide skills based training for about 40,000 individuals. Sethi mentioned that besides these impressive achievements, through NITI nearly 5000 direct placements have been made so far. 

“We are serving Nagaland to the best of our capability,” he said.

As such, he noted looking back at the journey, it is an occasion to be grateful for the many challenges including the numerous ups and downs.

CEO of Lord’s NITI Nagaland, Rishav Sethi meanwhile provided a brief address on the importance of technology in running day to day affairs in the current age. The scenario of using tech especially when it comes to remote work and learning brought on by the Covid pandemic has drastically changed, he said. 

Due to which it was crucial for people to equip themselves with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle the challenges of the day, he stressed further. 

Short speeches were also delivered by educational institution partners of NITI such as representatives of NEISSR and Norman Putsure College.   

Owdang O Phom an alumni and currently working as a stenographer in the Department of Power further shared about her experiences with the institute.
