The Dimapur Police' Commissionerate issued an order prohibiting a proposed stoppover of the Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra (Nationwide tour for raising cow flag) in Dimapur on September 26.

The order was issued on Thursday morning.
The order, citing the state government's standing decision of September 12, stated that the proposed cow protection yatra or tour will not be allowed in Dimapur, Niuland and Chumoukedima on account of apprehension of disturbance to public order, and as per the provisions contained in Article 371 (A) of the Constitution of India.

Late on the evening of September 25, the yatra's natinal media coordinator  announced the arrival of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Maharaj, by a chartered plane, at the Dimapur airport to hoist a "cow flag" on September 26. The scheduled arrival was 12 noon.
