DIMAPUR, JULY 28 (MExN): The Nagaland People's Action Committee (NPAC) has resolved to conduct a mass rally to demand for an early Naga political solution in Dimapur on August 5.
The decision was taken on July 28 during a meeting at Hotel Saramati, informed a press release from the NPAC. The meeting was attended by representative from “all tribal hohos, Dimapur based civil organizations, non Naga community, business associations etc,” it added. For the successful conduct of the rally, a local committee was formed with the following members: President, Naga Council Dimapur; President, Western Sumi Hoho; President, Ao Senso Telongjem; President, Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry; President, Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation; President, Private Bus Association; President, Muslim Council Dimapur; President, Niuland GB Association; Chümoukedima GB Association; President, DNSU; President, Dimapur Women Hoho; President, Dimapur District Citizens' Forum; President, Dimapur District GB Association; President, Dimapur Auto Drivers Union; and Member Secretary, Akhu Gangmei Naga. The NPAC has appealed to all the citizens of Dimapur and neighbouring districts to support the call for peace and solution to the Naga political issue and participate in the proposed rally to “voice our desire and wishes to all concerned.”
