The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) is set to stage a ‘yatra’ in solidarity with the Congress’ ongoing Kanyakumari-Kashmir Bharat Jodo Yatra on November 19. The march will coincide with Indira Gandhi’s birthday, informed the NPCC’s Joint Coordinators for the Yatra in Nagaland.

Joint Coordinators, Rajesh Kumar Sethi and Akavi N Zhimomi, told a press conference, today, in Dimapur, that the march will cover the Dimapur-Chümoukedima road, starting from the DC office junction and will conclude in Chümoukedima in the afternoon.

Sethi said that the march is not for politics but for the values, on which the Constitution of India rests, and for the end of discrimination. According to him, equality, justice and secularism are under threat from the BJP.

Zhimomi said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is for India, which is being divided on the basis of caste and religion. While informing that the state Congress is planning to take the ‘yatra’ to every district, he said, “The message is for all like-minded people and parties to unite. We appeal the public to support and join the yatra (November 19).”
