NSDMA forecast cloudy weather and isolated rainfall in Nagaland

Kohima, February 23 (MExN): Nagaland would experience partly cloudy weather in the coming days while rainfall activity is expected in districts like Mokokchung, Kiphire, Peren, Tuensang and Noklak from February 23-26, the NSDMA forecasted on Wednesday. 

The rainfall activity, however, would be light and scattered,” stated a weather update issued by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), in coordination with the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati.

The weather condition in most of the districts will improve starting from February 26, it said, adding that temperature is expected to increase marginally during this period and days would be sunny. The NSDMA further stated that in districts where snowfall was observed during the past days may experience fall in temperature.  

Kohima is expected to again hit a minimum low temperature of 0°C with a maximum temperature of 12°C, while Phek is expected to have a minimum and maximum temperature of 3°C and 19°C respectively, it said. 

The minimum and maximum temperature of 2°C and 17°C respectively were forecasted for Aghunato, while it was 5°C and 22°C respectively for Kiphire. 

Tuensang will have a minimum and maximum temperature of 4°C and 18°C respectively during this period, it added. 

Meanwhile, the NSDMA urged the public to exercise caution to avoid any eventualities during this period and also requested all the DDMAs and other line departments who are responsible to attend to any emergencies caused by natural calamities and to be on alert to save lives and properties.
