Kohima, September 14 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has forecast light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning in several districts of the state from September 15 to 18.
For September 15, light to moderate rain has been forecast in Longleng, Mokokchung and Mon, while thunderstorms/lightning with light rain are likely in Noklak and Tuensang. Dimapur, Peren and Phek may experience thunderstorms/lightning, while Wokha is likely to receive light rain.
Partly cloudy conditions are likely in Chümoukedima, Kiphire, Kohima, Meluri, Niuland, Shamator, Tseminyu and Zunheboto.
On September 16, thunderstorms/lightning with light to moderate rain are forecast in Longleng and Mon. Thunderstorms/lightning with light rain are likely in Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Niuland, Noklak, Shamator, Tseminyu, Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto.
Meluri, Peren and Phek may experience thunderstorms/lightning, while no active weather warning has been issued for Kiphire.
No active weather warning is forecast for any district on September 17.
On September 18, thunderstorms/lightning with light rain are likely in Noklak, Phek, Shamator and Zunheboto, while Kiphire and Meluri may experience thunderstorms/lightning.
Light rain is forecast in Mon and Tuensang, while overcast conditions are likely in Peren, Tseminyu and Wokha. Partly cloudy conditions are likely in Chümoukedima, Kohima and Niuland.
No active weather warning has been issued for Dimapur, Longleng and Mokokchung on September 18.
The four-day rainfall outlook shows the highest cumulative rainfall expected in Longleng at 42.96 mm, followed by Mon at 40.66 mm, Mokokchung at 34.80 mm, Tuensang at 26.99 mm, Noklak at 26.85 mm, Wokha at 22.88 mm, Shamator at 17.78 mm and Zunheboto at 17.10 mm.
The NSDMA advised the public to regularly monitor the latest weather updates through the Safer Nagaland mobile application and NSDMA Weather Portal, follow official advisories and exercise caution during thunderstorms and periods of rainfall.
