Kohima, July 16 (MExN): The National Statistics Office (NSO) has commenced fieldwork for three all-India surveys, the All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS), Migration Survey and Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households, across designated sample villages and blocks in Nagaland, with the exercise scheduled to continue until June 2027.
An update received here stated that the Field Operations Division (FOD) of the NSO’s Kohima Regional Office will cover 12 sample locations, including Zunheboto, Meluri, Khuzama, Bhandari, Shamator, Chakpa, Chozuba, Kashanyishi, Diphupar A, Tuensang, Sena Old and Changtongya.
Trained enumerators will visit households to collect data on financial health, population mobility and agricultural conditions.
While the AIDIS focuses on assessing household debt, assets, loans, and capital formation to expand financial inclusion, the Migration Survey tracks internal migration, remittances, and employment patterns to design social security nets, and the SAS evaluates agricultural income, holdings, and farmer welfare to support policy interventions in the farm sector.
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, under which the NSO functions, has emphasised that all data collected will remain strictly confidential and used solely for official statistical purposes.
The NSO has appealed to the public and local authorities to extend full cooperation to the survey teams to ensure timely completion of the fieldwork across the state.
