In an unfortunate incident, a 35-year-old woman, enrolled to appear for the Clerical and Allied Services Examination (CASE-2024) conducted by the Nagaland State Selection Board (NSSB), reportedly passed away after collapsing near the exam centre in Kohima today on February 8.

According to Additional SP and PRO, KSoriso, the incident occurred just outside an educational institution in Kohima where the deceasedwas supposed to begin her examination. She collapsed near the centre.

According to the police, after she collapsed, a medical team present at the scene detected a very low pulse and decided to rush the victim to the Civil Hospital.

However, observing the gravity of the situation, authorities present rushed her to the nearest hospital in a private vehicle.

"Although medical authorities tried to resuscitate the woman, she was declared brought dead," the PRO said.

“Family members, members of NSSB, SDO (Civil) and landlord were also present," the PRO added.

Although the exact cause of death could not be determined, the officer said that it was suspected to be cardiac arrest.

While a family member of the deceased had provided an undertaking not to conduct a post-mortem, the police ruled out any foul play after conducting the necessary inquest, and the mortal remains were subsequently handed over to the family.
The deceased, originally from Kiphire District, was residing in Kohima.

The CASE-2024, which covers Group C vacancies within Nagaland Government, was advertised by the Board in November last year and held across in several centres in the State on February 8.
