Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): The Nagaland State Transport Department has been conferred the ASRTU National Public Bus Transport Excellence Award for the year 2023-2024. The department emerged as the winner in the category of achieving the highest percentage of non-traffic revenue over total revenues in the Hill Service Category among State Transport Departments/Undertakings across the country.
The award was presented by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), the apex coordinating body of all State Transport Undertakings (STUs) under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The ceremony took place in Delhi on March 8.
The General Manager of NST, Shikaho P Yeptho, and the Deputy General Manager, Nungshilemba, received the award on behalf of the department.
“Achieving this prestigious award has been made possible due to the joint effort of all the officers and staffs of the Department and above all, due to the unwavering support, guidance and motivation of our Advisor, Transport & Technical Education and the Secretary, (AHOD) Transport Department and we are incredibly proud to receive this recognition as the winner amongst all the State Transport in the Hill Sector of the Country,” the NST GM stated in a press release.
Yeptho added, “We are also committed to continuing to improve further our performance for enabling further enhancement in the overall growth of revenue to contribute our mite towards the revenue of the State's exchequer.”
