
Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Nagaland Finance Department today clarified that on a “general misconception” that the fiscal year 2022-23 has been projected to close with a deficit of Rs. 2,212.74 crore.
Rather, the budget for the year 2022-23 projected a positive balance of Rs. 150.30 crore, the department said, pointing out that deficit figure of Rs. 2,212.74 crore is the level of deficit accumulated over the years.
“This is the first time that the State Government has been able to present a budget with a positive balance after many years of passing deficit budgets,” the department maintained in a press release issued via State DIPR.
