Orientation on COVID-19 held for school heads in Tseminyu

Officials and participants during the block-level orientation on COVID-19 prevention and control in schools held at EBRC (Samagra Shiksha) Training Hall, Tseminyu on November 23.

Tseminyu, November 25 (MExN): A block-level orientation on COVID-19 prevention and control in schools under the Nagaland Education Project-The Lighthouse (NECTAR) was held at EBRC (Samagra Shiksha) Training Hall, Tseminyu on November 23 with the school heads under the establishment of SDEO Tseminyu.

The resource persons spoke on the respective topics: Rushulo Khing, Coordinator - ‘Introduction on Nagaland Education Project (NEP)-The Lighthouse (NECTAR)’; Francis Magh, TOT EBRC (SS) Tseminyu -‘Key Messages & Actions for School Administrators, Teachers & Staff’; Hinilo Cheng, TOT EBRC (SS) Tseminyu- ‘Key Messages & Actions for Parents/Caregivers & Community Members.’ A press release stated that altogether, 46 head of schools and representatives attended the programme.

The special guest, Rosy Sangtam, EAC Tsogin emphasized that the teachers as moulders should not give up on their mission or calling to lay the foundations of students for posterity. At the same time, the special guest expressed openly that all of us will continue to live in the new normal and that one should find ways to overcome the problems of COVID-19. 

She urged upon the gathering of school heads to follow SOPs, implement COVID-19 appropriate behaviours and coordinate with SDEO Tseminyu and the Administration. Further, she implored the school administrators to increase enrolment, evolve ways to reopen schools and over improvement of schools under the Subdivision.

The programme was chaired by Rushulo Khing, Coordinator EBRC (SS) Tseminyu and welcome address was delivered by Chegeseng Kath, Area Education Officer Tseminyu.
