PDA prays for a year of ‘hope & joy’

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 3 (MExN): The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) has extended New Year greetings to the people of Nagaland and hoped that 2021 will be “a year of hope and joy.”

A press release from PDA Chairman, Chingwang Konyak and Co-Chairman, Temjen Imna Along said that though 2020 was a difficult and challenging year for the world, “but the support of the people of Nagaland has helped the Government of Nagaland in handling the pandemic successfully.”

The PDA reaffirmed its commitment towards serving the people of the State with dedication and steadfastness. “We stand committed to our motto ‘Together with all! Development for all,’” it said.

It meanwhile welcomed the decision of the NSCN/GPRN led by General (Retd) Niki Sumi, to join the ongoing peace process between the Government of India and the Naga National Political organisations. “This speaks volumes of the commitment of the Naga leaders towards bringing a final solution to the Naga issue and their desire that peace prevails amongst the Nagas. The PDA continues to encourage all stakeholders to come together for our common cause and desire for peace, development and unity,” it added.

The PDA further appealed to the Government of India and the negotiating parties to expedite the ongoing talks so that the much anticipated final settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue is realised in an honourable and inclusive manner in 2021.
