Dimapur, July 11 (MExN): One-day programme on ‘People’s Forum for Peace: a model of conflict transformation’ was organized by Peace Channel, Dimapur with the Adivasi community at Lahorijan, Assam on July 10.
The Peace Channel desk in a press note stated that stressing on the importance of building a just and equitable society, Caroline Leisan, Peace Animator enlightened the participants on the seven core principles of Peace Channel that a community needs to adhere to in-order to live sustainably in peace and harmony i.e. Principle of Acceptance, Spirituality, Dialogue, Respect, Equality, Empathy and Non-violence.
In the second session Teresa Ashela, Peace Animator on People’s Forum for Peace (PFP) stated that PFP is formed with a group of likeminded individuals and communities who are committed to work for peace.
“Conflict is experienced by every individual at every level and is a phenomenon that cannot be avoided. Hence, one must learn and be equipped with knowledge and skills required to address conflict,” she stated.
