DIMAPUR, MAY 28 (MExN): The Joint Action Committee (JAC) – COVID-19, Peren District today stated that it would not accept returnees sent to Peren without confirmation of test results at entry point as directed by the Government of Nagaland.
In a letter to the Dimapur in charge for COVID-19 empowered group, Kikheto Sema, IAS, the JAC said that in case any positive returnee is sent without confirmation of their results under any circumstances, “the authority in question will be solely held responsible should an outbreak occur due to such anomalies.” It further pointed out the Peren COVID-19 designated hospital does not have ICU beds and ventilators despite repeated demands to provide the same.
It added that the JAC is “ready to welcome any returnees with negative test results anytime inspite of the stressed arrangements in the district.”
The JAC meanwhile informed that it is working to ready the TrueNat rapid testing facility for the district through the initiative of the Leader of Opposition to supplement the work of the government team.
