DIMAPUR, MAY 14 (MExN): Secretary, Nagaland Khadi and Village Industries Sangh (NKVIS) Dinesh Kumar Chaudury donated 500 hand stitched  cotton masks to the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi IAS, on May 14.
The cotton masks were hand stitched by Rebecca Sumi, who underwent 3 months training under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programmen (PMEGP) in 2010.

A report from the DIPR informed that the DC thanked NKVIS for their gesture and lauded Rebecca for practically using her skills gained through PMEGP

The Secretary meanwhile informed that NKVIS paid minimal stitching charge to Rebecca. She said she could manage to stitch around 50 masks in a day and further said that the washable masks can last up to one year.

Presently Rebecca trains around eight unemployed people by charging minimal maintenance fees. She also takes contract work from churches for stitching choir uniforms.
