DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 24 (MExN): In an initiative to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability, the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Pranab College organized a cleanliness drive and plastic waste collection on September 24 as part of the ongoing ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign. The primary focus of the drive was to clean the surrounding areas of Dimapur Railway station while promoting the ban on the single-use plastics, a press release informed. 

Under the guidance of NSS Program Officer Mrs. Ulla Fernandez and faculty members Moasunep and Rupam Dasgupta, the NSS volunteers of Pranab College gathered at Dimapur Railway Station to engage in this vital activity aimed at enhancing community awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic waste.

Alongside, the NSS cell also observed the National Service Cell foundation day where in the volunteers distributed packed food to the people at the railway station area. These activities not only aimed to beautify the environment but also an impactful step toward creating a plastic-free and cleaner environment and fostering a sense of social responsibility and humanity among the volunteers, the press release added.
