WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 7 (MExN): The District Health Society, Wokha, organised a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp at Lakhuti Village Community Hall under Wokha district on Saturday.
Speaking at the camp, Dr Thungchanbemo Ezung, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, said the initiative was aimed at providing quality health services in areas where medical officers are not posted and people face difficulty in accessing medical treatment. The RCH camp focused on maternal and child health along with other healthcare services, he added.
Dr Ezung informed that an ultrasound machine was brought for antenatal check-ups and urged beneficiaries to avail the facility. He also thanked Lakhuti Village Council chairman, Mhonthung Yanthan, for mobilising beneficiaries and extending support to the programme.
During the camp, antenatal check-ups were conducted for six pregnant women, general health check-ups for 10 lactating mothers, general OPD services, eye screening and AB-PMJAY/CMHIS card generation. Nutritional food items for pregnant women and free medicines were also distributed.
Information, Education and Communication (IEC) leaflets on immunisation, malaria, anaemia, hepatitis, family planning and rabies were handed out by ASHAs. The medical team comprised a gynaecologist, medical officers, DPMU staff, RBSK, MMU personnel and staff from Lakhuti PHC. More than 200 beneficiaries availed health services during the camp.
