Release salaries within a week: ANHTU, Kohima Unit to Education Department

Kohima, March 9 (MExN): The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (ANHTU), Kohima Unit today questioned the school education department on the delay of payment of salaries to Hindi teachers appointed during 2012-15, despite allocation of fund the State’s Finance Department on February 22.

In this connection, the Kohima Unit has requested the school education department to release the salaries (from November 2021 to February 2022) within a week.

“If left unpaid, the teachers would have no other option but to go for agitation,” stated a press release from the unit’s general secretary  Nelson Yhokha, further cautioning that Department would be “held solely responsible if any unwanted situation arises.”

The teachers are only depending on their salary for their daily livelihood and daily needs, it reminded.
