Relief packages distribution to daily wage earners in Kohima

As announced by central government and as per direction of the state government, the Kohima district administration and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kohima on May 15 started the first phase distribution of relief pack of essential commodities to daily wage earners at Relief Distribution Center, Kohima Local Ground.
The worst sufferers of the lockdown period are the daily wage earners who eke out a living from the daily work in towns and villages.
Altogether, 450 daily wage earners (non PDS holders) from 18 colonies received the relief package today.
Victor Yhome, DPA Kohima, DDMA who is coordinating the ongoing relief distribution for daily wagers and labourers under municipal area at the relief camp said that the relief distribution for Kohima municipal town area will continue for another few days. It starts at 10:00 AM.
The same distribution will also be done to other sub divisions by the next week, he added.
It clarified that the distribution was delayed due to the ongoing inter district movements exercise of the stranded persons.
